The vision

Telling a modern story of faith

Carlo Acutis was a teenager who used the early internet to share his faith — cataloguing Eucharistic miracles online before his death in 2006, and becoming the first millennial to be canonised a saint.

His story sits at a unique intersection of faith and technology, making it a natural fit for immersive storytelling.

The vision was to create an experience that brings audiences closer to his life, his world and the digital legacy he left behind.

The immersive idea

Stepping into his world

Rather than presenting his story through objects and text alone, the experience places audiences inside the moments and places that shaped it.

Immersive environments, imagery and narration carry visitors from his everyday life as a young person through to the work that made him known around the world.

The result is a portrait built around presence — meeting Carlo as a person first, and understanding his legacy from there.

Why XR?

Making a life feel present

A story like this is usually told through photographs, relics and written accounts.

Immersive technology allows audiences to inhabit it instead — standing in recreated spaces, seeing the world as he saw it and encountering his story at full scale.

For a figure whose own medium was the internet, telling his story through technology is not just fitting — it is part of the story itself.

Inside the experience

A journey through a short, extraordinary life

The experience moves through the defining chapters of his life — his childhood, his faith, his creative work online and the recognition that followed.

Environments, artefacts and storytelling combine to give each chapter its own atmosphere and focus.

Together they build a picture of an ordinary teenager whose life became extraordinary, told in a way audiences of any background can connect with.

The impact

Bringing a new saint to a new audience

Carlo Acutis's canonisation made him a global figure, with particular resonance for young people encountering a saint who grew up with computers, gaming and the internet.

The immersive experience gives that audience a way into his story that feels native to their world.

It is not simply an exhibition about a saint. It is an invitation to meet one.
